Audiovisual Installation
Project created as part of Pfadfinderei.
The ISM Hexadome is an immersive 360° audiovisual installation combining art and technology, and it is the first step in the Institute for Sound & Music’s initiative to build a museum in recognition of sound, immersive arts, and electronic music culture. The Hexadome was designed and created by Pfadfinderei in collaboration with ZKM Karlsruhe and System 180.
The structure hosts a series of audiovisual performances and installations by artists such as Brian Eno, Tarik Bari & Thom York, Holly Herndon & Mathew Dryhurst, Peter Van Hoesen & Heleen Blanken and Pfadfinderei & René Löwe. After showings at the Martin-Groupius Bau in Berlin and Gray Area in San Fransisco, it's currently on tour.
As part of the Pfadfinderei team, I helped create their audiovisual installation called "The P!eace." My role was to develop the landscape scene under their art direction, while keeping the results possible within the strict render deadlines. The images below show the finished piece along with some later R&D shots based on this concept.
